Guitarist CHRIS CAFFERY Hopes To Release New SAVATAGE Album In 2007
September 24, 2005Vampire-Magazine.com recently conducted an interview with SAVATAGE/TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA guitarist Chris Caffery. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow:
Vampire-Magazine.com: There were a couple of shows booked last month in Europe, but somehow these were all cancelled. What is the story here, I mean, I heard that promoters just didn't get replies from the bookers… Is there a chance we get to see you playing your solo songs one time?
Chris: "We did a few shows in June. We were scheduled for a festival and 2 or 3 more shows at the end of July/beginning of August. The festival got cancelled. The festival was buying our flights to Europe. The other shows were not financially possible after this. We will be back next year, I just could not afford to fly over to Europe for two supporting club shows. It was financially impossible. The festival was to aid the tsunami victims and some corporate sponsors walked out on it. I suppose you can blame them! I am currently touring the U.S. with JON OLIVA'S PAIN and Ripper Owens' new band BEYOND FEAR."
Vampire-Magazine.com: An often heard complaint is that there are two CHRIS CAFFERY albums, one DOCTOR BUTCHER re-release and a new album coming up, a JON OLIVA'S PAIN album… Where's the new SAVATAGE?
Chris: "I really don't know! … SAVATAGE will hopefully have something out in 2007… I cannot force this to happen and really have no control over the situation. I will continue to make music for my fans and hopefully pick up some new ones along the way."
